North Point Park Pavilion Restoration
Edgemere, MD
North Point State Park is a public recreation area located on Chesapeake Bay – the park also originally housed an amusement park, the Bay Shore Amusement Park. This amusement park had a trolley stop that served Marylanders visiting and leaving the amusement park. Throughout the years, the amusement park has closed and given way to the state park North Point is today and the pavilion has been used as a reprieve from the sun and elements to all park enjoyers.
This historical pavilion is in a poor state due to the lack of maintenance and repairs. The State awarded Janus Contractors with this project to fully restore and bring this pavilion back to life for all to enjoy – it is currently closed to the public. The scope of this project includes renovation and upgrade of the existing roof, identifying and replacing the historical wooden trims and structure that make up the pavilion, installation and upgrade of the lights inside of the pavilion, new concrete pavers, and the beautification of the surrounding areas. This historical project is set to complete in the Fall of 2025.
