Subcontractor Opportunities

Establishing strong partnerships with subcontractors is vital for our success at Janus Contractors. These collaborations foster trust, communication, and mutual support, ensuring that projects run smoothly and efficiently. By nurturing these connections, we can tap into the unique skills and expertise of our subcontractors, leading to higher quality work and greater innovation. Together, we can achieve shared goals and enhance our ability to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Subcontractor policies help ensure safety, quality, and legal compliance on job sites. All subcontractors must follow OSHA safety standards, provide proper training, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any accidents immediately. They must carry required insurance (such as general liability and workers’ compensation), provide proof of coverage, and agree to protect the contractor from legal claims. Subcontractors must be licensed, qualified, and may need to pass background checks. The scope of work, schedule, and change order process must be clearly defined before work begins. Quality standards should be met through inspections, warranties, and correction of any problems. Payment terms must be clear, including timelines, any payment withholding (retainage), and lien waivers. Subcontractors are also expected to behave professionally, follow a code of conduct, and comply with rules on harassment, drugs, alcohol, and weapons. In some cases, they may need to follow environmental policies like recycling and waste management.
A subcontractor code of conduct ensures professionalism, safety, and legal compliance. Subcontractors and their workers must act respectfully, follow all site rules, and cooperate with other teams. Subcontractors are required to comply with all laws, including labor and safety regulations, and must wear appropriate PPE, report hazards, and never work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Ethical conduct is essential— dishonesty, theft, and misuse of tools or materials are strictly prohibited. Harassment, discrimination, and any form of bullying are not tolerated, and a respectful, inclusive environment must be maintained. Subcontractors are expected to arrive on time, communicate absences, and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas. Equipment must be used properly and only by trained personnel, while confidentiality of project information must be respected at all times.
To become a subcontractor with Janus, you must complete the Subcontractor Registration process (see section below for the full registration form). Your registration package must include an up-to-date Certificate of Insurance, a W-9 Form, a summary of relevant Project History, details on your Ethics and Experience, as well as your Direct Deposit Info for payments. All documentation must be current and accurate to be considered for approval.
